Dates and times of Selectmen’s Meetings may vary, however, they currently are meeting on every other Wednesday at 4:00PM in the meeting room at Town Hall. Please call or email the office to get on the agenda. Special times can be arranged for people who cannot attend a regularly scheduled meeting. The staff cannot attend to normal business during the Selectmen’s Meeting, so please plan accordingly. Please note that all documents submitted to the office must have original signatures (no faxes or emails) and become part of the file.
Services: Assessment of property and tax abatements, building permits, permits to occupy and zoning issues, requests for aid, health officers, road maintenance, and other general government issues.

The tax bills for 2024 have not been mailed yet due to the fact that the State has not set our tax rate yet. We will post a notice once the rate has been set and tax bills have been mailed. You will have 30 days from the date of the tax bill to pay.

The Bartlett & Hart’s Location Emergency Management Directors (EMDs) will meet with June Garneau of Mapping and Planning Solutions and other Community members to work on the required five-year update to the 2018 Bartlett & Hart’s Location Multijurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. The Town and Mapping and Planning Solutions are conducting a series of hazard mitigation meetings to develop the Plan over the next few months. NEW COMMERCIAL INSPECTION PROCEDURES
Shawn Bergeron Technical Services will no longer be performing commercial construction inspections for the Town of Bartlett. The Board of Selectmen have made arrangements for the State Fire Marshal’s Office to do the commercial building inspections. The new procedure is as follows:
COMMERCIAL INSPECTION PROCEDURES
All commercial construction will now be inspected by the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office. Once your building permit has been approved by the town, you will then need to apply to the State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) for permits before any construction may begin.
This is the procedure you will need to follow:

Apply to the Selectmen’s office for a commercial building permit.

Once approved, you will be mailed your permit with an approval letter which must be presented to the Fire Marshal’s Office in order for them to proceed with their review and inspection.

The Fire Marshal’s office works off of an online portal for permitting, plan review, inspections, and documentation. The portal is a completely web-based portal called MyGov. The portal may be found one of two ways:

Once the SFMO receives a permit application, it will go under a plan review and if the reviewer finds that it meets all applicable codes, an invoice will be issued to the applicant and then a permit to start construction. All inspections and documents can be viewed by the applicant and any other contact that they wish to add onto their project (contractor or super). Inspections are recorded within the system with any notes the inspector may add. Once all inspections have been completed and a final inspection conducted, a final inspection letter or certificate of occupancy may be issued.

After construction is complete and you have received your final inspection letter or certificate of occupancy from the SFMO, YOU STILL MUST APPLY TO THE TOWN FOR A PERMIT TO OCCUPY before you can be open to the public for anything that was included in the building permit.
Permits of Assembly and Tent Inspections will be handled through the Selectmen’s Office. If you require one of these inspections, please contact the Selectmen’s Office and we will direct you from there. Please plan ahead so that the inspector can be scheduled in a timely manner.

Deeds can be obtained from www.carrollcountynhdeeds.gov (Carroll County) and septic plans are available from NH Dept. of Environmental Services website at www.nh.gov. Most application forms are on our website so please check the Documents section first before contacting our office.

HOW DO I GET AN ARTICLE ON THE WARRANT FOR TOWN MEETING?
Please note: Bartlett is NOT an SB2 town and does NOT have a budget committee. Selectmen are responsible for the budget and warrant. Each town in the area is different and follows different laws depending on their structure. This information is for the Town of Bartlett only.
THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF SPECIAL ARTICLE PETITIONS FOR TOWN MEETING IS:
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2025 – NO LATER THAN 1:00PM (close of business) AT THE SELECTMEN’S OFFICE (NOT THE TOWN CLERK OR POLICE DEPT.)
- PETITIONS REQUIRE AT LEAST 25 ORIGINAL SIGNATURES OF REGISTERED BARTLETT VOTERS, HOWEVER, IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED YOU GET AT LEAST 30 SIGNATURES.
- THE SIGNATURES MUST BE LEGIBLE. IF WE CANNOT READ THEM TO VERIFY THAT THEY ARE ON THE VOTER CHECKLIST, THEY WILL NOT BE COUNTED.
- WE SUGGEST THAT YOU HAVE SIGNERS OF THE PETITION PRINT THEIR NAME NEXT TO THEIR SIGNATURE AS WELL AS INCLUDE THEIR RESIDENCE ADDRESS.
